c.1882 Richardson Ellson - Coventry Zephyr High Wheel Tricycle

This rare high wheel victorian tricycle was manufactured by Richardson Ellson & Co of Lower Ford Street, Coventry, Warwickshire, from c.1881-83. Having been part of a significant large bicycle collection in the UK - the ‘Coventry Zephyr’ high-wheel tricycle is now for sale. 48" inch driving wheels with a rear steering trailing wheel, it was restored over 50 years ago and only been lightly used for special events, but mainly displayed in local museums near to the collection. A beautiful and elegant machine which still retains its original makers badge on the rear frame. Rack and pinion steering steers the rider from the rear wheel. A rare machine that is now looking for a new custodian.
