One of the first mass produced carbon tubed bicycle frames made by Vitus of France. 979 Duralinox aluminium forks and lugs. Equipped with original c.1985 1st generation Campagnolo C-Record group-set throughout. The bike is in generally good, but used condition. Please take a good look at the photos before you bid, as these form a major part of the description and will show the general condition of the components and the whole bike. It has not been serviced for a long time, so will require this by the new owner. All the gears do select and the rear Campagnolo Cobalto brake callipers work well; (the front brake calliper in missing its blue gem, but I see they can be found on ebay.)

Frame is 51cm C-C on the saddle tube. Number E079256 stamped on the underside of the bottom bracket. Vitus Carbone Plus with Vitus 979 Duralinox front forks and lugs. Wheels are Campagnolo Record small flange hubs with Campagnolo Omega Strada Hardox 700c rims. Rear Derailleur: 1st Generation C Record, Front Derailleur: 1st Generation C Record and Campagnolo levers. Campagnolo Pedals, toeclips, toe-straps, 1st generation C Record Chain-set with 52/39 chainrings, Campagnolo Headset, Campagnolo bottom bracket, Campagnolo Cobalto blue gem brakes and hooded levers. Cinelli A1 handlebar 90mm stem, Cinelli 63-38 Campione Del Mondo handlebars with pearl white bar tape and Benotto end plugs.

The front headstock and forks have old ‘BLOWER’ decals fitted. Doing some google research, this may relate to Owen Blower, who was a racing cyclist in the 1950’s and 60’s and then apparently owned a bicycle shop in Leicester – England, so the bike may have originated from this shop?

The bike shows signs of use, but with some careful servicing and preservation, will make a great example of a rare road bike which was built at a time when bicycle design was being pushed by talented engineers worldwide.
